Australian Indigenous People Ministry

Brett & Justine

Brett, Justine and their 3 children moved to Halls Creek after hearing a clear call of God during a short visit in 1988. Since 2000 they have been in full-time ministry and in 2005 became the senior pastors of the Halls Creek Church and training centre.

The key to the Church’s growth is the introduction of culturally relevant men’s and women’s meetings. The men’s meetings are held out in the bush and they have a time of worship and listen to the Word of God. After the meeting they have a relaxed fellowship time.

At the women’s meetings Justine shares with them from the Word practical life issues that relate to women, such as family and raising kids in the way of the Lord.

Other practical Ministries include: - Clothing Outreaches (suppling clothes to those in need); Wood cart (A lot of the camps don’t have access to electricity and their only means of cooking is an open fire); Feeding the Young (Large pots of food are cooked weekly and taken out to the streets to feed the children. Many have not eaten for days as their parents are alcoholics).

Indigenous Australia
The 250,000 indigenous Aborigines have suffered much in their contacts with Western culture, and their land rights have become a political issue. Many have struggled both morally and spiritually, while others have retreated into the more in accessible and inhospitable parts of the country. In the last eight to ten years, an indigenous revival movement in the north has spread through parts of the west and centre of the country with thousands being soundly converted.
