CityLife Church Partnership

Our Partners are the core of our church. These are people who have decided to buy into the vision and mission of CityLife Church and call this "my church" rather than "the church I go to". Partners are the members of CityLife Church Inc. who have completed LIFETRAX 1 & 2 and applied for partnership (membership) of the incorporated association. Since we became an incorporated association in 1992 we have had a growing partnership and as of 31st December 2011, 3312 people are on our Register of Partners. The Register of Members is available for inspection upon request to the Public Officer – Contact .

The Association holds an Annual General Meeting each year, with notices sent via email. Existing partners can find more information in the Partners Area.

How do I become a Partner of CityLife?
In order to be a partner you are required to successfully complete Track 1 & Track 2 of our LIFETRAX course. Track 2 is our basic introduction to our church family and is designed to clearly explain who and what our church is. It is also our Partnership course. This track comprises eight sessions, namely :
  • Getting To Know Us
  • Ministry Objectives and Partnership Commitments
  • Cell Church & Pastoral Ministries
  • What We Believe – Our Statement of Faith
  • God’s Financial Plan
  • Church Structure
  • Getting Involved
At the end of the course there will be an opportunity for you to complete the process by filling in the Partnership Application Form. Alternatively, you may fill in and submit the online application form.

What are the requirements for Partnership?
In order to qualify for partnership, the following are our requirements at CityLife Church:
  • A Christian, having accepted Jesus Christ as your personal saviour
  • Successful completion of Track 1 & 2
  • Active involvement in a LifeGroup
  • Tithing faithfully
  • Being at least 16 years of age
  • Baptised by full immersion
  • Honouring the 5 partnership values
What is Partnership?
A partner is someone who is an active participant of Citylife Church and is committed to the following 5 values of partnership:
  1. Discipleship
    This is a commitment to spiritual growth, in order to be an example of what a true follower of Jesus Christ really is. This is accomplished through your personal daily relationship with Jesus and your regular involvement in church life.
  2. Relationship
    This is a commitment to love others in your church family. This is accomplished through building close relationships with other brothers and sisters in Christ. Life Groups are one of the best places for this to happen.
  3. Ministry
    This is a commitment to use your gifts, talents and abilities to benefit others. This is accomplished through involvement in some ministry or department within the church or simply through informally being an encouragement or help to others.
  4. Stewardship
    This is a commitment to give to God the first 10% of your income (a tithe) and to contribute offerings to various ministries of the church. This can be accomplished through faithful tithing and offerings as well as bequests or interest free loans to the church.
  5. Evangelism
    This is a commitment to build relationships with non-Christians and to share your faith with them at the appropriate time. This can be accomplished through personal evangelism or through inviting a friend to visit with you in your LifeGroup. There are also occasions when the church will program a harvest event designed to assist partners in their personal evangelistic efforts. These are held either on weekends or as a mid-week activity.
