Divakar
Divakar

In 1998, CityLife Church helped to construct a multi-purpose building in Visakhapatnam, which is now functioning as a church meeting place and a training facility for church planters. The pastor of the church is Divakar Devasahay, who is married with two children. 10 years later Pastor Divakar now heads up the training college and now planted over 26 village churches. They have a bible college which trains church planters and Christian leaders. Every year about 40 church planters are trained at this training facility, some of whom are sponsored by CityLife partnership in missions giving. As a result of this sponsorship over 352 church planters have been trained resulting in over 150 churches being planted all over India.

Pastor Divakar also runs an orphanage for 30 children.

North India
North India is the political and religious hub of India and the heartland of Hinduism. It has a population of more than 400 million people. It is the most socially deprived area with the smallest Christian presence. The ruling political Hindu party promotes one country, one people and one religion. Most of the church growth has been in the South and the North-East of India, but NOW is the time for North India. God’s vision is to see a great multitude from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne.

The PeopleGroupsIndia website contains initial research information on 70 largely unreached people groups of Uttar Pradesh, North India. Uttar Pradesh is the most populous and influential State of India. Most of these people groups are also represented in large numbers in other North Indian States. For further information about the unreached people groups of Uttar Pradesh visit www.peoplegroupsindia.com.
